What you will learn
This course will be delivered in a combined lecture and workshop format. Participants will examine and address both manual and automated sharpening techniques to achieve a positive sharpening outcome. This course includes a theoretical review, clinical demonstrations and hands-on components.
Objectives
- Review of instrument design and sharpening stone options.
- Address obstacles to instrument sharpening and how to overcome them.
- Discuss four common sharpening errors and how to avoid them.
- Identify useful strategies for both manual and automated sharpening (side kick).

Class format
The course is held in person at the Edmonton Clinical Health Academy on the 51ÁÔÆæ campus. It runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. MST.
